From 3rd to 6th September 2019, the annual Visual Art workshop was conducted at Xavier Jesuit School (XJS). This time 19 teachers from XJS and 27 teachers from the local public schools filled up the maximum capacity of our art room.
Based on the practical teaching experienced from last year, Jonathan helped the participants to develop a visual art scheme of work for grades 3 and 4. The scheme consisted of 18 topics for each grade. During the workshop, the participants had the chance to complete 15 topics. This provided them some essential experiences to teach these topics in the coming years. Some techniques may not be used at the primary school level, such as the using of water colour. However, some teachers did show their talents in handling them well. It illustrated that art education is worth promoting in the schools.
