This book is the result of an oral history project of the Centre for Catholic Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, interviewing 16 Catholic lay missionaries of Hong Kong. Among them, 15 are the missionaries who were had joined the formation program of HKCLMA and sent by the bishops of Hong Kong in the past 30 years, including a couple. They were sent to different locations for evangelization and services, including Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mauritius, Cambodia, Thailand, and India. They served in the area of education, faith formation, pastoral work, nursing, rehabilitation, finance, and caring for people with different abilities. More important, they accompanied and lived with local people. The book also includes the stories of three priests, who are supporters and companions of HKCLMA. After the publication of the book, with the approval of the Centre for Catholic Studies, HKCLMA printed 1,000 more copies. We promoted the book and lay missionary work in various parishes, including St. Jude’s Parish in North Point, St. Jerome’s Parish in Tin Sui Wai, Holy Redeemer’s Parish in Tuen Mun, and St. Andrew’s Parish in Tseung Kwan O.
